FAQ for First-Time Visitors

If you are considering visiting First Baptist Prospect, the following information may be helpful.

First Baptist Church (FBC) was established at its present location in 1949. The current facilities, including the gym, were built in 2001 following a fire. FBC is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Find out more about the Southern Baptist Convention here.

What times does the church meet?
10:00am - Sunday School
11:00am - Worship Service
6:00pm - Bible Study or Fellowship

Wednesday Evening
6:30 - Adults' Bible Study

Where are you located?
First Baptist Prospect is located on US Highway 42 in Prospect, Kentucky, between Walgreens and the Harrods Creek Fire Station. You can find an interactive map to the church here.

Where should I go?
The first parking spots on your left as you enter the church grounds are reserved for visitors. The entrance to the sanctuary is to the left of the visitors' parking spots through the tall wooden doors.

What should I wear?
Our regular attendees are comfortable wearing clothing of various degrees of formality, from jeans to suits.

What should I expect in the service?
The service usually begins with several songs led by the praise team. Our music is a blended style, incorporating traditional and modern hymns as well as praise songs. The offering is for the members of the church who have committed themselves to supporting the church financially. Visitors are not expected to contribute to the offering. If you have a home church, please continue to support them. The sermon will last about 35-45 minutes.

What about my children?
Childcare is provided. To find the childrens' classrooms, enter the church through the white door at the top of the handicap ramp to the left of the visitors' parking spaces. After you enter, turn right and walk down the hallway. The childrens' Sunday School rooms are clustered around the restrooms.

Sunday School
If you are coming to Sunday School with your children, take your children to the childrens' classrooms. Adult Sunday School classrooms are located in two rooms to the rear of the sanctuary.

Sunday Morning Service
If you are only coming to the Sunday morning worship service, please take your children ages 0-4 to the nursery. Older children worship with their parents for the first part of the service. Children ages 5-10 will be dismissed with the children's workers for Children's Church later in the service.
